“I want to be clear that I, Floyd Mayweather, never agreed to an official bout with Tenshin Nasukawa”.
Just a few days ago, Floyd Mayweather, appeared in an overnight news conference alongside kickboxing prodigy, Tenshin Nasukawa, 20. It announced a fight between Mayweather and Nasukawa is to take place on 31st December in Japan. The Conference was streamed worldwide on YouTube and organised by the Rizin Fighting Federation, a Japanese fight company which promotes MMA and kickboxing events.
But since then, Mayweather has taken to Instagram explaining he had ‘never heard of him until this trip to Japan’.
From the shock of the fight announcement to this surprise U-turn, Mayweather seems to be staying in retirement and is sorry to all his fans for the confusion.
Admittedly, it did seem like an odd move for 41-year-old Mayweather to fight with 20-year-old Japanese kickboxer Nasukawa.
On another note, Nasukawa has enjoyed gaining a new following in the combat sports world.
